A day without social media

Happy Sunday beautiful souls.

As I began my new year off by setting lots of intentions, instead of making resolutions, one of them was to spend 24 hours off of social media. I choose Facebook because it’s by far one of my biggest wastes of time.

Maybe for you it’s You Tube, or Twitter?!?

Whatever it is I think we can all admit we need to spend a lot less time with electronic engagements and a shit ton more time with real life connections.

Yesterday morning I got up early and wished everyone a happy birthday, which is my favorite thing to do every morning! Sending out lots of love and light to those on their birthdays.

It’s a beautiful way to start my day off and to send lots of good vibes through the internet.

It felt amazing to not be a slave to my phone yesterday.

Sure I was tempted on my break to push the button and see what was going on, but I was even more curious to see if I could do without it.

And it turns out that I most certainly can and it was amazing break for my brain. Over the last 4 years I’ve began to use my social media for different purposes. And even while growing a business online, I can still find myself sidetracked & scrolling aimlessly through an abyss of nothingness.

While at other times I can be fully present and on a mission to read and learn explore and teach while I’m online.

After an entire day without fb I felt free if you want to know the truth.

Ive been needing to make a lot of changes concerning these platforms. I’ve decided to take an entirely new approach to my social media and to invest my energy in person through real life loving and learning and growing together.

That’s not to say you won’t see me ever, because I’m not giving up my writing or my mentoring. But it is to say my energy won’t be wasted here because it’s needed elsewhere.

Remember that we don’t need to beat ourselves up because of the way things used to be, but that we do need to take action and create the change that is necessary to help shine more light in first ourselves and then in those world.

You won’t find me over here complaining and bitching about how awful the world is, because that only creates more separation and division.

I find beautiful people and beautiful things all day every day without even trying, and so can you.

I’m excited and afraid and amazed oh my!

Are you willing to take the day off?!??

If so will you tell me how it went?!?

I appreciate all of your love and support over the years 💜🧘‍♀️💡 here’s to 2020 being full of real community.

More changes more magic and more love

Olive you
