The world needs more people that love themselves. And I don’t mean in an egotistical way, we’ve got plenty of that.
I mean in a spiritual way, like a peaceful sort of way. People that aren’t the victim and that aren’t the judge. People that aren’t offended and that aren’t constantly sharing drama. People that aren’t so negative all of the freaking time.
The thing about loving yourself is that we can easily trick ourselves. We can do a few things that are really good for our lives, while at the exact same time doing things that are absolutely awful for us.
We could work out at the gym, and then eat a shit ton of bad food. We could listen to an amazing pod cast, that makes us feel happy, and then go sit on the couch and watch the news and get depressed.
If we’ve truly learned how to love ourselves then we know how to have boundaries with anyone and everyone.
It doesn’t mean that you get the boundaries right every single time, it just means that you love yourself enough to know what’s acceptable and what’s not for your heart.
When you love yourself you understand that you are responsible for you own happiness. And everyone else is responsible for their own happiness.
When you love yourself you surround yourself with people who make you better and not bitter.
When you love yourself you understand that everyone isn’t going to like you and your totally ok with that. There’s like 7 billion people in the world, those just aren’t your people. Move along and you will find your tribe.
But more then anything I think when you love yourself, that you can begin to teach other people how to love themselves too. They learn how to love by watching you grow and that’s the best gift anyone could give any person and it’s the best gift for the world.
The return on love is never ending and so is the return on negativity.
When you realize you have a choice I hope you choose love.
I am mine before I am ever anybody else’s
