Today while I was enjoying a free lunch at hot head burrito 🌯 I was able to experience a tiny blessing. It came in the form of some Christmas Magic and Holiday cheer.
You see, when I went in it was right around lunch time and I just beat the crowd. While I was sitting there grubbing on my food, a Dad and his daughter came and sat down at the table across from mine.
I would say she was probably 10 years old and he was in his early 30’s. She was clearly excited to be out to dinner with her dad, as her face was glowing and she was smiling from ear to ear.
They got situated and then they bowed their heads, and he proceeded to pray. 🙏 I was like awwwwwwww look at this man praying with his daughter in a public fast food restaurant.
My heart was instantly filled with the love of God and the presence of Christmas. As I sat there I thought about something I had read earlier that day, and it said if you see something beautiful then tell someone.
I wondered if I should tell them what a blessing it was to witness that special moment. Or, if I should just mind my own business, but I decided not to keep quiet.
So on my way out I stopped by and said “that was a really sweet thing you just did with your daughter by praying with her, and I’m happy that I got to see it. You guys just gave me a Christmas blessing!”
He smiled and bashfully said, “We always need to remember to thank God” and I said “I know that’s right.”
Since I don’t believe in coincidences I’m pretty sure that blessing was intended for me, and I’m happy that I was present enough to witness it!
