Feeling Christmas

I love Christmas time. It makes my heart so happy. It’s a feeling that I can’t explain, it’s like I’m a little kid again. I love to give to others, and gifts is my love language, so I get double shot of fun. Everyone has different feelings about Christmas, but Mine are all good. We are helping with our local Christmas parade tonight, which will make it even more exciting.
I remember making buckeyes, and fudge and popcorn balls with my grandma and mom as a little girl. Now I’m the grandma and I get to do the same things with my kids. Traditions are a must in our family. They are one of my favorite things about the holidays. After baking, I love to shop and to find great deals. I love to spoil other people and Christmas gives me an excuse to do so.
We bought my daughter a claw machine a few years ago, and we fill it up with candy on Christmas Eve. In the morning we all try to see what we can get. Stockings are up next on my favorites list. When I was little my mom wrapped up little individual presents and added them to our stockings. They included gift cards, lottery scratch offs and of course some old fashioned chocolate. It might take us 30 minute to go through them, and I’m proud to say my daughter now loves this part too. Finding unique items to go in each one are half of the fun.
Christmas might be a stressful time of the year, if you choose to look at it like that. I however, choose to look at it like it’s magical. I embrace the feelings of love, and happiness, and I love to celebrate The birth of baby Jesus. Today I’m going to inspire you to take time this holiday season to enjoy your family and their presence. Bask in the glow and the feelings that are associated with a Christmas, and take the time to be grateful. It will make your month special and magical, just like it’s supposed to be.
If you can afford it, I would suggest buying gifts for a family that needs some help this year. If your not sure where to look, check with your local children’s services, or your church. They will be sure to point you in the right direction. May God Bless you and your family this December!
